WORLD'S BEST SNOW AT KODAMA LODGE - HAKUBA NORIKURA- JAPAN

Welcome to Kodama Lodge

Ski-In/Ski-Out accomodation in Hakuba Norikura, Japan

If you’re on this page you probably already know that Japan has the best and most snow. But it took more than that for two swiss freeride experts to decide to live here. The mountain and terrain are unique in this part of the Japanese Alps.

Just three hours from Tokyo, the Hakuba Valley is home to the biggest mountains of Japan, it’s close proximity with the sea of Japan brings an average of 12 meters of snow every winter. With ten resorts and variety to accommodate experts and beginners, we’re not afraid to say that Hakuba is the best place in the world for lift accessed backcountry. As 3 to 4 days per week it will be dumping snow, we choose to open Kodama Lodge in Hakuba-Norikura, the resort is connected to Cortina and gets the most snow and the best tree runs in the valley. This is the absolute best location for a Ski-In/Ski-Out accomodation! When the weather will clear up, you’ll be happy to follow our advice to get your fix of big mountain.

Wait! It even got better since they opened the new chair 11 in 2023, a backcountry only access chairlift that brings you to the top of Wakaguri and easily double the area of tree runs of Haku-Nori / Cortina.

We have teamed up with JFMGA backcountry guides to provide our packaged weeks. More details here.
